Care Instructions

Generally, Little Para Pants don't need any special treatment. Just a few things to consider.

Hemp increases its absorbency with each wash. I wash the fabric once before I cut it, but I would recommend at least two more washes prior to use.

Detergents can build up in nappies over time. This can cause absorbency issues and nappy rash. Many cloth nappy users recommend using half the amount of detergent when washing nappies, and doing strip washes periodically. You can read about strip washes at www.ozclothnappies.org/info.html

Avoid using vinegar in the wash, as it eats away at the elastic and the PUL.

Fabric will break down more quickly when dried in a dryer. Every now and then isn't usually a problem, but line dry whenever possible to lengthen the life of your nappies.

Nappies which are only wet or have breast milk poo can go straight in the wash (breast milk poo is water soluble). Once baby is on solids, you'll need to rinse the poo off the nappy. Some people use a dedicated spatula and some use a Little Squirt. This is a sprayer that connects between the tap and the toilet.

Enjoy your nappies!
